How do I use DotAsia.Pool.com services?
DotAsia.Pool.com will provide a direct login for domain applicants to access
online auctions and place bids. However, to be qualified to participate in
.ASIA domain auctions, you must first submit a domain application through a
.ASIA accredited registrar. To see a list of accredited registrar’s please

How long will it take before my newly acquired domain is
accessible on the internet?
After the payment of your domain is successfully processed, the ownership of
the domain will be transferred to you. It could take up to 24 hours before the
domain becomes active at the registry.
How do I become an auction participant?
To become an auction participant you must first submit an application through
an accredited registrar complete with required materials (in the case of
Sunrise applications). Once the domain application is approved by the registry,
you or your OPN contact (if you specified one) becomes eligible to bid in the

OPN contact.
What if I want to change my Auction Participant?
To change the auction participant the Registrant may contact
rarinfo@dotasia.pool.com using the email registered with the domain
application and indicate who they would like to be the auction
participant.
The Registrant will also need to provide the Domain ID (which can be
obtained from the Registrar) so we can verify their request.
Who will receive auction Notifications?
With white label and central site implementation options, the Registrar and the
Auction Participant will receive all Auction Notifications via email. Please

Bidder ID
What is a bidder ID?
A bidder ID is a unique name used to identify you on a DotAsia.Pool.com
auction. When you place a bid in an auction, your bidder ID will be displayed
to all other participants.
Are there any restrictions to the selection of a bidder
ID?
Yes, your bidder ID must be at least 4 characters long but no more than 12
characters. It can include letters from a-z (with no accents), numbers, dashes
and underscores. All other characters or symbols will not be accepted. Your
bidder ID cannot be obscene, vulgar or disrespectful. If your bidder ID is seen
as inappropriate, your account will be suspended, in which case you will
receive email notification. You will be able to login to your account and
select another bidder ID.
Can I change my bidder ID?
No, you may not change your bidder ID after your DotAsia.Pool.com account has
been successfully created or after you have personalized your default Bidder
ID.
What is an English auction model?
In an English auction model a new bid must be at least one increment higher
than the current bid to become the new leading bidder. Bids below the current
auction price will have no effect on the auction and in fact will not be
accepted as valid bids.
How will the auction system decide which .ASIA bidder is given
the opening position?
All .ASIA auctions will start with an open auction price of $0 with no assigned
auction leader. The first bidder will be established as the initial leader in
the auction at the first increment level.
How do I bid on a domain?
Log into your White Label or Central DotAsia.Pool.com account and click on the
Auctions tab. Under "Open Auctions" and beside the domain you wish to
bid on, click "Bid Now". You can also enter your confidential Maximum Bid amount
(which cannot be cancelled or retracted). DotAsia.Pool.com will use this amount
to automatically bid (proxy bid) on your behalf.
What will be the bidding increment value?
The bidding increments will vary depending on the value of the current bid. The
chart below indicates the different increment amounts pertaining to defined
bidding ranges.

What is a proxy bid?
A proxy bid is a bid placed automatically by the system up to the submitted bidders maximum bid.
When a user submits a bid, the system will only apply the minimum bid required to become the
auction leader based on minimum increments.
Can I retract or cancel an unwanted Maximum Bid?
No. Bids are legally binding agreements to purchase a domain for the agreed upon
price of up to your maximum bid. DotAsia.Pool.com recommends that you take your
time when placing a bid.
How do I know if I am winning or if I won an
auction?
If you are the winning bidder in an auction, the current price will be
highlighted in green in the Domains I'm Bidding On list on the Auctions page.
At the time you place your bid, Pool.com will confirm that you are the current
high bidder. When an auction ends, Pool.com sends a confirmation email to the
winning bidder, explaining which domain they have acquired, and the amount paid
for the domain.
When does an auction close?
All auctions are open for a minimum of 7 days. If there is a "Change of Lead" within the last 24 hours of an auction the auction will be extended to close 24 hours from the time of the "Change of Lead". This would continue until there has been no "Change of Lead" for the last 24 hours of the auction.
A "Change of Lead" is effected only when a new bid amount is placed by a bidder and such bid is higher than the current leaders maximum bid (their proxy bid). For example, if the current auction price is $50, and the leaders maximum bid is $100 and another applicant places a bid for $60, the system will
accept the bid as valid (it is one increment higher than the current auction
price) and automatically update the auction price to $70 maintaining the same leader. This is
not considered a "Change of Lead". If the other bidder places a bid higher than
$100, say $110, then a "Change of Lead" will occur. The leader will receive a
notification that their maximum has been surpassed (they will receive an "outbid email"
notification).
Where can I view the auction status and review the Auction
History for a domain?
Log into your account and click on the "Auctions" link. By default all current open auctions are
displayed on the main Auctions page. For information related to past
auctions, simply click the "Auction History" link.
Auction payment collection
How do I pay for a domain that I acquire through
DotAsia.Pool.com?
Payment for a domain purchase can be made by credit card or wire transfer
depending on the domain value. Some registrars have opted to collect payment
directly. Please contact your registrar to find out whether they will take care
of payment for auction charges, or if DotAsia.Pool will be charging you
directly.
What are the payment thresholds?
-
For amounts less than 1,000 USD the credit card specified on the account will be automatically billed.
-
For amounts 1,000 USD to 2,500 USD a billing authorization will be required.
-
For amounts greater than 2,500 USD a wire transfer will be required. Note, the user is responsible for all wire transfer fees.
Note: Pool.com operates on a daily billing cycle so the payment method will depend on the cumulative amount due for a single day.
What is Pre-authorization?
A pre-authorization validates a credit card and reserves a specified amount of
available credit. It is not a charge, although it may appear on your online
statement. This reservation of credit is usually in effect 48 to 72 hours, and
will expire automatically. This is a security measure that we use to protect
our customers and DotAsia.Pool.com from fraudulent acts against our Domain
Marketplace systems. When you first establish your account with
DotAsia.Pool.com, a $60USD pre-authorization will be applied to your account.
What is a Billing Authorization?
A billing authorization is a form that will be completed by the client and will
authorize DotAsia.Pool.com to bill their credit card for an allotted amount
specific to the winning domain value.
What currency does DotAsia.Pool.com use?
All bids will be in US Dollars. The auction interface provides a simple
currency converter that allows auction participants to evaluate their bids in
the currency of their choice.
